chapter 66

66. Stormy Night

noon. Lee Jeong-oh.

Jiheon's eyes, staring at the monitor, became transparent and wet. Red veins burst out from the whites of the eyes.

Red eyes, as if bloody tears were about to flow at any moment.

"customer... ... Are you okay?"

The man who had been watching quietly asked worriedly.

"... ... "Can I take this picture?"

Jiheon couldn't hide his trembling voice and made a request to the man. The man willingly sent me the file.

After taking the photos, Ji-heon left the flower shop and immediately contacted Seung-gyu.

[Uh-huh, friend.]

"Did you get off work?"

[huh. I'm on my way home. why?]

"Do you still have the research data on Lee Jeong-oh?"

[uh... ... yes.]

Seunggyu's voice became quiet as if it was a difficult topic to talk about.

"Can you send that to my email?"

I asked Seunggyu. Ji-heon had never personally checked the data on Lee Jeong-oh that Seung-gyu had researched.

.*. *. *. *. *. *.

It's Monday, after a long relaxing weekend. Overtime work began again.

Noon returned to his seat after a long meeting and lazily leaned back in his chair. When someone appears in the hallway near Ji-heon's office, my spine tenses up without even realizing it.

He left work early today.

As usual, at 12 noon, a text message saying that he was busy with a lot of work was all that remained of Jeong Ji-heon today. I saw his face from afar a couple of times, but I guess I just checked to see if his eyes, nose, and mouth were okay.

Although they belonged to the same company and the same headquarters, the two were as far away as the office and her seat.

I can't see him often for more than a day or two, so why do I feel so frustrated?

Perhaps it was because of last night's dream.

In the dream, Noon and Yena were walking in the park wearing pretty white dresses like a couple and found Jiheon. Jiheon was also wearing a nice suit.

Unlike Noon, who hesitated after recognizing Jiheon, Yena ran with her arms wide open. And she hugged Ji-heon.

Jiheon sat on a bench in the park holding Yena. Yena sat on Jiheon's lap and smiled comfortably. Like her mom doesn't even care.

The problem was my mood at noon. I wanted to bring Yena from Jiheon, but my legs wouldn't move. I woke up from my dream, sick and tired of bending my stiff legs.

Dreams are a reflection of the unconscious. Perhaps the fear that Jena might be taken away by someone appeared as a dream.

Meeting Chae Eun-yeop on Friday must have been one of the factors of anxiety.

Anyway, I've decided to wait until Jiheon's memories come back, so I'm going to try to hold on for a while.

Noon tried to think positively about the anxiety factors.

It's a good thing that we finally found out who the suspicious person was.

I didn't know what direction the arrow would come from, but now I feel like I can at least figure out the direction. Moreover, since Chae Eun-yeop approached her by impersonating another lawyer, she could exploit this as a weakness.
