Cheers To Comeuppance Chapter 57(Pt 1)

Third Person

“What do you mean Jeffrey lost everything!?” Sadie exclaimed. Not even 24 hours after arriving there, Sadie mouthed off to some unscrupulous inmates who hated mistresses and even had a physical altercation with them. Since all of the cases had been highly publicized, it didn’t take long for all of the women in prison to figure out who Sadie was and what she had done.

A lot of them, to her dismay, were legitimate wives who actually did unthinkable things to their own husband’s mistresses and then to their cheating husbands. So, in their eyes, Sadie was nothing but a constant reminder of what got them locked up in the first place. Sadie, though, not knowing her personally, left very sour tastes in the mouths of those female inmates. When they started to harass her for being a homewrecker, Sadie slapped several of them, which got her jumped and beaten to a pulp. Fortunately for her, they knew she was pregnant and steered clear of her abdomen, but that left room for them to ruin her face and hair.

Sadie suffered from a broken nose, a ruptured cheek implant, and her hair was chopped off. Sadie went from having golden locks down to her hips to having a near-pixie cut that made her look horrendous. Sadie had to spend 36 hours in the infirmary before getting a cell in isolation to protect her from the other inmates.

Currently, Sadie was allowed only one visitor a day, and the only person who had been coming to visit her was her mother. Agatha Galloway, who had been trying to avoid her husband by any means necessary, was stealthily visiting her daughter; however, she wasn’t stealthy enough. David Galloway knew she would be the only person on the planet to visit her daughter in prison and had his men, or what little men he had left, follow her every move. When she first saw what had happened to her darling daughter, Agatha Galloway nearly fainted at the sight.

“It’s what I said, honey,” Agatha explained. “They found that marriage certificate you concealed in his paperwork to sign.”

“How!? It was supposed to file secretly by Agatha’s uncle in Jersey!” Sadie gritted her teeth, still uncomfortable with the fact that her only lacky shared a name with her mother.

“I don’t know how sweetheart, but they did. And that only added fuel to the fire. Jeffrey is being charged with bigamy,” Mrs. Galloway said as she trembled in trepidation. Knowing she had also committed the same crime, she was terrified that the law would come for her next. “They even found evidence that Jeffrey doesn’t belong to Jack and Ruth.”

“What do you mean?”

“I mean, Jeff isn’t Ruth’s son. He belongs to that woman, Piper. She’s not their family member at all. She’s Jack’s mistress and Jeff’s biological mother.”

“What in the f**k is going on out there!? So, Jeff is just a bastard? Literally!? I gave up everything for an illegitimate son!?”

“Ruth has filed for divorce. And given how long they’ve been married and that he’s been cheating on her with this woman since day one, Jack’s going to lose everything to her. Jack Hollands will be nothing but an empty shell.”

“How could this happen? Why is everything going to s**t! I was supposed to have everything—money, fame, and power. Jeff’s position as a district attorney was supposed to seal my fate the way possible. I could have whatever and whomever I wanted without consequence, and now, I have nothing! Not even a competent lawyer!”

“About that …”

“What?” Sadie ground her teeth even harder, not liking the sudden turn of her mother’s tone when they mentioned Bart.

“Bart’s been arrested.”

“What!?”

“I heard from his wife that they were at the airport trying to flee the country but were caught by TSA.”

“Are you f*****g serious right now!?” Sadie slammed her tiny fists onto the table in front of her.

“Inmate! Keep your voice down!” A guard shouted at Sadie. Her outburst interrupted the visitation of other inmates around her.

“Are you f*****g serious right now!?” she repeated in a shouted whisper.

“Yes, honey. He was caught while he was trying to go to a country with a non-extradition treaty with the U.S. or something or other.”

“On what charges?”

“Helping you frame Leon and other things that I’m not sure of.”

“There’s no evidence of that!”

“I heard they found some. The worst part is that Bart made a deal.”

“He… made… a deal!?”

“He did. I was informed by your new public defender that Bart made a plea deal to avoid a long-term prison sentence.”

“What did he say!?”

“I don’t know. I didn’t get those details. But I don’t think it’s good.”

“He better not open his big mouth. If he so much as betrays me, I will—” Sadie was barely getting to the juicy part of her threat to have Bart killed if he were to betray her; however, several guards suddenly approached her before she could. “What’s going on? What do you want? Can’t you see I’m in the middle of my visitation!?”

“Sadie Galloway, we just received instructions to put you into the general population.”

“WHAT!? I’m supposed to be in protective custody! LOOK AT ME!” She screamed as she pointed to her still bruised face and ruined hair.

“Those charged with attempted murder don’t get to be in isolation,” one of the guards spat at her.

“What are you …” Sadie was about to question, but she realized what was happening. Bart must have sold her out. Only Bart knew that Sadie had planned to have Annika kidnapped, raped, and murdered. Bart was the one that had paid the thugs on her behalf. Even though the thugs promised to keep their mouths shut, it wouldn’t take much for them to turn their backs on her. After all, whether they got the job done or not, they had been paid. They had no loyalty to Sadie whatsoever. “BART! THAT SON OF A b***h!”

“Let’s go, prisoner!” The guards yanked her up by her arms and forcibly took her away.

“Get your filthy hands off of me! I’m Sadie Galloway, goddammit! You can’t do this to me! ARGH! Unhand me, you pathetic excuses of women! Let go of me!”

“Sadie!” Mrs. Galloway shouted for her daughter, but it was futile.

“Ma’am, you need to leave immediately,” the remaining guard commanded. She was also forcibly removed from the prison. Once outside, she was told she was no longer permitted to visit Sadie and that she would see her at her official court hearing.

“Now, what am I supposed to do?” Mrs. Galloway mumbled as she made her way to the prison bus stop to be taken back to her vehicle. While she was waiting, however, she realized that she was alone. When she had initially arrived, there were about half a dozen people or so, but now, she was all by her lonesome. Though strange as she thought it was, no one else was waiting with her; she just figured that they were still having their visits with their loved ones. She felt bitter about everything. She was angry that Bart had saved his own a*s and betrayed their family, especially after all the money they had paid him over the last few years.

Mrs. Galloway was so lost in thought over the turn of events in her life that she hadn’t realized that she was literally the only soul within a half-mile radius. As she contemplated how to turn things around for her and Sadie, her eyesight suddenly turned black. Her head was covered with a black bag, and her mouth was covered by someone’s hand. She was hoisted up into the air and thrown into a vehicle, most likely a van.

“Who are you!? Ah!” she immediately cried out when she felt that she had been slapped by one of her assailants. “What is the meaning of—AH!” she was hit again before she could even finish her question.

“Easy, man. The boss said not to hit her too much. Just enough to get her to shut up,” she heard one of the men say.

“Boss!? What boss! Who are you!?”

“Shut up, b***h. You have no right to ask anything. Just keep your trap shut, and enjoy the ride.”

“LEON PUT YOU UP TO THIS, DIDN’T HE!? How dare he have me kidnapped! Don’t you assholes know who I am!?”

“Oh, we know who you are, all right. And Leon Von Doren has nothing to do with this.”

“What?! No! You’re lying! AH!”

“Shut the f**k up before we tape your mouth shut, old hag.”

“OLD HAG!? I’LL HAVE YOU KNOW—”

“Lift the bag and gag the grandma!”

“Grand—mmmm!” the men quickly subdued Mrs. Galloway and covered her mouth with duct tape. Then one of the men covered her nostrils with a rag soaked with chloroform. The last thing Mrs. Galloway heard was, “Master Galloway will be pleased that we finally have her.”
