CHAPTER 26 “THE FUNERAL”

Walter is exhausted 15 days into broadcasting. Elizabeth ignores the cue cards, insists on a different kitchen space, and adds scientific details to her cooking. Walter invites an audience to show her how boring her methods are and encourage her to be more entertaining.

To Walter's horror, Elizabeth starts the show by "cleaning" her kitchen and giving most of the set items to the audience. She chops spinach for the casserole while explaining its health benefits. She says "Children, set the table" and says cooking is chemistry. Your mother needs a break”. Walter imagines his funeral while filming. Rosa, his secretary, and Elizabeth wake him up, saying he was slumped over with a high heart rate. Elizabeth gives him her spinach casserole for dinner. He takes spinach home despite Amanda's objections, and she says it's the best thing she's ever eaten.
