Here is the rewritten content without the original format and special characters: Adrian woke up feeling like his head was going to split into two. He suspected Daxon of pacing all night, knowing it would give him a massive headache when he woke up. "Fuck you, Daxon. This doesn't change my mind about anything, just so you know," Adrian said through the mindlink, and Daxon only growled in reply. Adrian got up and went to brush his teeth and rinse his face before deciding to head to the basement to work out. It was the only way to let off steam and anger, and he was furious about everything. He went down the stairs and found no one else was awake yet. He checked the time when he entered the basement-turned-gym and it was 6:30 am. He was surely awake early for someone who had been on a rollercoaster of events since the previous day. Adrian took the first swing at the punching bag and imagined it was the Moon goddess, the one who had decided to play with his life. Slam! For making him find his mate late. Slam! For making his mate a rogue, creatures he despised with his very being. Slam! For making his parents not dislike her because she was his mate, he could have easily gotten rid of her if his parents had seen her as a threat. He punched the bag over and over, until he felt sticky liquid around his knuckles. His knuckles were bleeding, and he didn't even know he was hitting the punching bag so hard until he heard his father's voice behind him. "I pity the poor punching bag, it would have passed out from pain if it were human. Wanna spar with me instead?" his father asked, smirking at him. Adrian looked at the wall clock and saw it was already 9:00 am. He was punching the bag with so much anger and concentration that he didn't realize time had passed. His father was messing with him on purpose, but Adrian wasn't going to back down. "Bring it on, old man," Adrian said, getting into position and flexing his already healed fingers. As a werewolf, his fingers healed quickly. His father smirked and got into position too. He taught Adrian everything he knew about fighting, so it wasn't going to be easy to defeat him, especially when Adrian was angry like this. Adrian should get some relief from Fay when he was done here. Adrian threw the first punch, but his father blocked it, landing one on Adrian's stomach and making him stagger back. It hurt like a bitch, but Adrian got into position again. His father was still smirking at him, he knew what he was doing. "So you're going to reject her?" his father asked as Adrian swung another punch in his direction, which he successfully dodged. "She's a rogue, Dad. I have to reject her for the sake of everybody. I can't make the same mistake twice," Adrian said as his father landed another blow on his ribs. "I'm sure Daxon doesn't agree with your decision, she's his mate too, you know?" his father said, throwing punches Adrian kept dodging. Adrian was angry and started throwing punches blindly, not even calculating his father's next move until his father landed a blow that had him on his back. Adrian didn't bother sitting up and just sprawled on the floor, breathing heavily. He heard his father leave the basement and still lay down on the floor, not moving. Adrian sat up after a while and checked the time, seeing it was already noon. Jeez, he needed to get his act together. He mindlinked Nathan to ask if he had carried out his order. "Hey, man, what's up?" Nathan's voice came through the mindlink. "Where's she?" Adrian asked, not even bothering with pleasantries. He needed to know where she was so he could avoid such places. "She's at the pack house. I handed her over to Julie as a maid," Adrian nodded his head, even though Nathan couldn't see him. At least she was in good hands, not like he cared. Juliana was like the pack's nanny; everybody liked her. "Okay, man, I'll see you later," Adrian told him and cut off the mindlink. Adrian stood up and went to his room to freshen up, greeting his mother on the way. She told him to come down when he was done freshening up, to eat, and she also had something to discuss with him. Adrian mentally rolled his eyes because he knew she was going to talk about the mate bond, but he agreed anyways. Adrian freshened up and changed into a pair of gray sweatpants with a white thin t-shirt that clung to his frame and made his way down to eat his food. He had a cup of fresh coffee while his mother made his food for him. She always treated him like he was still a baby, which he was grateful for when it came to food. She made pancakes, a whole lot of them, and stacked them on his plate. He had them with syrup and strawberries. He loved his mother's cooking; it was always so delicious. He finished eating and cleaned his plate, placing it in its proper place before joining his mother in the living room. He knew what she was going to discuss, but decided to humor her nonetheless. "Oh, hey, you're done eating. Took you a while to finish your workout today, anything bothering you?" his mother asked innocently, like she had no idea what he was going through. "No, Mom, cut the act. I'm going to reject her and go ahead with Fay as my Luna as planned," Adrian snapped at her. "No, you're not going to reject her!" his mother boomed in his ear. Adrian just stood up and made his way to his study to do some paperwork. It had been left to him as the next Alpha. He was engrossed in the paperwork, but didn't realize time was far spent until he heard his mother's voice in his head, "There's someone I want you to meet, get down here." Adrian wondered what she wanted now. He exited his room and was hit with the most amazing smell he'd ever smelled, pineapple and coconut. Adrian palmed his face when he realized what that meant but a part of him wanted to know what his supposed mate looked like, so he kept moving towards the scent. He saw her before she saw him. She looked thin and malnourished, and Adrian's heart broke at the sight of her. Her eyes met his, and they widened in fear, and she tried to make herself even smaller than she was. Adrian wanted to slap himself. Daxon whimpered in his head at the sight of her tiny frame, and Adrian almost went up to her to grab her and keep her close to him at all times. Her beautiful blue eyes teared up, and Adrian mentally kicked himself; he was the cause of her tears and pain. "I don't think I've introduced her to you. Adrian, meet Lola, our new maid," his mother smiled at him mischievously. Adrian looked at her the same time she looked at him with wide eyes, and cursed his mother in his head. "What game are you playing, Mom?"
