Lola's POV
I opened my eyes to find myself in a garden filled with roses and other beautiful flowers. I felt as though I was floating through the field, unable to feel the ground beneath me.
I looked down and saw that I was now wearing a white gown, the bathrobe long gone. My skin looked like glass, flawless and smooth. I raised my gown to check the scars on my thighs and they were no longer there.
I felt as though I could live in that garden forever, away from all heartbreak, away from all pains, no scars or injury on my body. I did not want to leave the garden.
I closed my eyes and continued to enjoy the peace of the garden when I heard a very beautiful voice call out to me.
"Lola, child. Welcome. You grew so well, thank you for holding out and persevering", she said, the same things as Serena. I looked around, trying to find the voice but I couldn't.
"Serena, is that you? Why are you hiding from me? Why are we here in this garden?"
The voice laughed softly and I could listen to it all day, it was so melodious. "I am Selene, child. I brought you to this garden through my dear friend, Serena", she said, and my eyes widened in shock.
No, it couldn't be. It can't be what I'm thinking.
"You're Selene? Like the Moon goddess that werewolves worship, Selene?"
I asked in awe, and she laughed again. "Yes, I am that Selene, Lola", she answered softly.
As I took in the fact that I was in fact, in front of the Moon goddess, my awe turned into anger, and I asked her the question that had always been on the forefront of my mind.
"Why? Why did you make my parents leave so suddenly? Why did you watch me suffer for 10 years in my pack? Why did I get paired with men that hate my guts and person? How dare you treat me like that? Why, just why did you make me go through all of that?"
I shouted into the garden, tears streaming down my cheeks, and heard her sighed sadly.
"I'm sorry, Lola. I did not abandon you, I promise. Everything that happened was to keep you safe and shape you to reach your full potential and accept your calling", she said, and I became more confused.
Full potential? Calling? What the heck was she talking about? I was about to ask her what she meant when she spoke up again.
"I know you have a lot of questions but now is not the time for that. You'll discover more as time goes on. Go now, child, Lyla is waiting for you", she said, and I shook my head.
"Lyla can wait. I want to know what... ...", I was in the middle of my sentence when I felt like I was being dropped from a very high point.
I felt my heart lurch, and I kept screaming. I was about to hit the ground when I woke up with a gasp on the massage table. I sat up and saw Serena smiling at me.
"What was that about? Was that really Selene? What did she mean by 'full potential' and 'calling'?"
I asked Serena, and she just shook her head at me.
"You'll find out as time goes on, Lola. Don't rush to find information, it's almost here. Don't doubt whatever decision you decide to make from here on", she said, and I wanted to scream.
Why can't nobody tell me what the hell is going on? I waited for 10 years and now I have to wait more?
I was about to say something to her when Lyla came into the room. She looked so relaxed and refreshed, the total opposite of how I was feeling inside of me. Serena gave me a look that said to keep shut, and I decided to let it go.
"I fell asleep, would you believe that? I guess you would believe, you look like you just woke up too", she came to sit beside me on the massage table.
She suddenly looked at me and gasped before using her hands to cover her mouth. "Oh my goddess, Lola. Your hair looks so white, it's a totally different shade from the silver I was used to. It looks so good and pretty."
She turned towards Serena, "You never made me look this gorgeous with a simple massage, Rena", she accused her, and Serena laughed at her. "You never asked, sugar".
Lyla said it was time to go, we already spent more time than we ought to. I quietly went to change my clothes back. The dream I had and what Serena said were at the forefront of my thoughts.
