Killing My Alpha Mate Chapter 35

“Hailey, you can't let go” Helen encourages trying to help me, but there was only little she could do till I gave her full control by morphing into my wolf. “Hold on!” I heard from behind, which was exactly what I was trying to do.

Rushing to the grass, I slide down, taking her hand and helping her up.

“What took you so long?” she cries in his arms. “I'm so sorry, baby, I'm so sorry” he cried equally frightened.

” Don't you dare scare me ever again”

I sit by the side, on the grass, watching them speechless.

The love between them even a blind man could see.

Something I only saw between my parents, something I don't have.

“I can't thank you.. he turns to me, but stops mid-sentence as his eyes flashed in recognition

“Hailey”

“Elijah” the chirpy blonde.

“You guys…have met?” His mate, I'm guessing, questions sniffling.

Instead of replying, he whispers something in her ears, that makes her smile widely, making me a bit uncomfortable.

“Well, nice to meet you, Hailey, I'm Patrisha, everyone calls me Nisha”

She says smiling, revealing a set of perfectly white teeth, her sad eyes brighten.

I raise a brow at Elijah, wondering what he told her.

Without warning, she rushes in to hug me warmly.

“Thank you,” she says, holding me.

I return the hug, wrapping my hand around her.

‘”You're welcome,” I replied, glad we were all alive.

Elijah has gotten off the floor now beside us.

She breaks the hug to go hold Elijah, making me feel warm inside a special type of feeling that somehow I was accepted by the two.

“I can't thank you enough, Hailey, how can I ever repay you” Elijah appreciates genuinely.

“Hailey!” I was about to answer when his voice blares.

Jaden shows up to spoil the mood, looking like a raging beast about to pounce.

“I thought I warned you to not leave without my permission,” he says, walking towards us, watching us keenly.

”You better stop there, Mr., Hailey is not trapped under you, how dare you to bind her by stupid rules” Nisha roars, making his anger dwindle, trying to go pounce on him but Elijah holds her tightly not letting her budge.

“Nice to meet you, Nisha,&8221; he gulps.

Elijah laughs, and I feel like the odd one out, but love the way Nisha stands up to the man.

“Jaden, she just saved my life, if she weren't here, I don't… she trails off cringing at the thought Elijah pulls her closer protectively.

“I'm sorry, I didn't believe you,” he said, resting his head on hers.

“I'm sorry too, I know I've pulled that stunt before” they both smile, looking at each other, true love reflecting truly in their eyes, then they kiss right in front of Jaden and me.

I look up to Jaden, who in turn looks away, irritated, when a small pain in my chest hits me.

“Well, we'll leave you guys to it. I and Hailey are going to have a little chat back at the pack house” Nisha tries to break free from Elijah's grip but he doesn't let go.

“I'll join you” he pleads with puppy dog eyes.

“What are you going to do sitting with two women, Jaden, please help me”

”My pleasure” he goes behind Elijah, spanking him on the head.

”Man up” he grunts, making Elijah let go of her.

She walks to my side, pulling my hand in hers, as we walk through the forest; I feel I've made a new friend.

“He isn't that bad if only you can breach the stupid voices in his head telling him what to do, he is his father's son” I know she's trying to paint Jaden less horribly, but now I feel worse. Lord Perry isn't a good example.

We returned to the pack house, where Nisha insisted I follow her to her room to get 'free bonding time', she called it; anything to get away from Jaden.

I had a bath in her bathroom, then played dress-up to find one of her clothes that'll fit, finally settling for a white striped gown. She sat me down for a little chat as she tried to braid my short black hair.

“Yeah, I guess Elijah is a nice guy” she turns pink at the mention of his name.

“I guess so,” she shrugs.

“Shut up!” She yells, and I look at her stunned.

“Sorry, mind link it's still something I'm getting used to”

“Mind link?” I ask, cockroaches.

“Yes, an invasion of your personal space happens when mates mark one another”

My mouth forms a small 'o' sadly, I can't relate.

“It's a shame Riley is pregnant, you and Jaden would be perfect for one another”

“Ehmm, yeah Nisha it's been a pleasure but I have something urgent to tend to” I rise abruptly from the stool

“Right now,” Nisha says confused, looking up at my half-braided hair.

“Yes, I'm sorry” To avoid further questions, I rush out the door. I didn't want her to know how greatly it affects me, and honestly, don't want to talk about it. Those feelings have been dead and buried, and I want things to stay that way.

Her room is in the east wing and her mind is in the middle I mean, Jaden's.

Walking down the hall, catching a glimpse of Rustave as he walks by, looking behind him into the empty hallway, I duck behind a pillar, wondering what he's up to.

He gets startled stepping back as the door flung open, and Shane walks out, then the strangest thing happens.

They kiss.

I hold my hand suppressing my gasp.

“You naughty brat, you can't get enough of me, can you?” He chuckles, holding her chin.

“Not when you are so good” She purrs, my stomach knots in disgust at the sound.

“We're in the open, Shane, someone can see, you don't want your brother catching us”

“He can go to hell for all I care he's allowed to roll with anyone he likes, especially Riley, cause Riley is pregnant”»”For someone else” she yells, my eyes wide at the new information. Riley is not carrying Jaden's child.
